Hi, I'm Martin Phelan - co-founder and blender for The T Shop. During my 25 years of struggling to find good quality tea in New Zealand, I had often wondered why no-one was selling a large range of teas from around the world. My career in Professional Theatre and a natural curiosity has seen me travel to a number of countries and see many fine specialty tea shops.

In 2004 time had come for me to change course and take the plunge. So, with my partner Kim Fleming, we have opened the world's southernmost specialty tea shop.

Based in Dunedin, New Zealand - traditionally one of the major tea ports in the history of New Zealand tea drinking - The T Shop caters for the everyday person who wants a premium cup of tea, as well as the restaurant, café bar or bed & breakfast that is looking to up its standard of tea service.

We have taken every care to ensure that each packet of our tea is as good as it can be. We believe we have chosen the best teas from around the world, but if your favourite tea is not in our catalogue please contact us and we will do all we can to get some in just for you.
